Why do church?

People in our society say they believe in God, yet few participate in church worship or activities. Why should you bother attending church or becoming involved in Christian community?

Perhaps you have a vague sense that life seems hollow, that you feel empty inside. Perhaps you have experienced a loss that leads you to reexamine just what it is that you are living for. Perhaps you would like to find a more satisfying way to live than you now have. Perhaps you have children you want to grow up with the advantage of faith in their lives. Whatever your reason, we welcome you as a beloved child of God.

Who are we?

St. Pauls United Methodist Church is a small, growing, family-style congregation of the United Methodist Church meeting in northwest Reno. The community affirms faith and belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and believes in forgiveness, redemption and eternal life.

The community views salvation as a lifelong journey in faith--not as a one-time experience only and thus encourages study, service and small groups. The community welcomes fellow pilgrims with love.

St. Pauls reaches out to the local community and to the world to share this faith and to bring the good news of Christs love to our fellow human beings through action, as well as word. Ministries of the people of St. Pauls include:

  • Noahs Ark Child Care Center
  • Tres Dias Community
  • Kairos Prison Ministry
  • Support for Food Bank
  • Support for Kids Kottage
  • Support for Ridge House Christmas Gift Project
  • United Methodist Camps
